No selling your data

Scrimmy is a free community tool. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data, and we do not use data brokers.

Small-project care

Scrimmy is an independent community project. We aim to keep active team data available with sensible cleanup for old or abandoned data.

Privacy-minded analytics

Google Analytics is used to understand aggregate product usage, not to sell data, profile players, or run ads.

Scope

Who we are

Scrimmy is a free team operations app for VALORANT Premier and amateur esports teams. It helps teams manage rosters, events, availability, review notes, VOD links, action items, and optional Discord reminders.

This policy explains how the Scrimmy app operator handles personal data. For privacy questions, data requests, or deletion requests, contact support@scrimmy.pro.

Data

What we collect

Account and sign-in data

Scrimmy uses Discord sign-in. We may receive and store your Discord account identifier, username or global display name, email address if Discord provides it, and avatar information. We also store your Scrimmy display name, Riot ID if you add it, account timestamps, and internal user identifiers.

Team data

When you or your team use Scrimmy, the app stores team names, regions, descriptions, memberships, roles, roster status, captain or coach notes, invites, events, availability responses, planned lineups, checklist items, VOD links, review notes, map and agent notes, action items, audit logs, and notification records.

Discord reminder data

If a team owner or captain enables Discord reminders, Scrimmy stores the Discord webhook URL and reminder settings for that team. Webhook URLs should be treated like secrets because they allow messages to be posted into the connected Discord channel.

Technical and security data

The app may process IP addresses, browser details, device details, request paths, timestamps, cookie values, error logs, rate-limit data, and similar operational data to keep the service running, investigate bugs, prevent abuse, and protect teams.

Feedback and support

If you email feedback or ask for help, we process the information you send so we can reply and improve the app.

Purpose

How we use data

  • To create and secure user accounts.
  • To show each user the correct teams, roles, events, roster, availability, and action items.
  • To keep team data scoped to the right team.
  • To send optional Discord reminders when a team enables them.
  • To maintain audit logs for important account, team, invite, role, event, and settings actions.
  • To diagnose bugs, keep the service reliable, prevent spam or abuse, and protect the app.
  • To understand aggregate usage with Google Analytics, such as which pages are visited and where users may get stuck.
  • To comply with legal obligations or respond to valid legal requests.

Where UK or EU data protection law applies, the usual legal bases are: providing the service you ask to use, legitimate interests in running and protecting a small community app, consent or legitimate interests for analytics depending on your location and cookie choices, and legal obligation where applicable.

Cookies

Cookies and analytics

Scrimmy currently uses essential cookies and similar browser storage for sign-in, security, team context, and timezone handling. These help the app remember that you are signed in, protect forms from cross-site request forgery, remember your active team, and display event times in your local timezone.

Cookie or storage Purpose Type
Scrimmy authentication cookie Keeps you signed in securely. Essential
Scrimmy active-team cookie Remembers the active team so pages stay scoped correctly. Essential
Scrimmy timezone cookie Stores your browser timezone so event times are readable. Functional
Security and OAuth cookies Support Discord sign-in, anti-forgery checks, and secure form handling. Essential
Google Analytics cookies and identifiers Measure aggregate usage, page visits, and product performance so Scrimmy can be improved. Analytics

Google Analytics

Scrimmy uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate product usage, such as which pages are visited, which browsers or devices are used, and where users may get stuck. This helps improve the app without turning Scrimmy into an ad product.

Scrimmy should not send names, emails, Riot IDs, Discord IDs, webhook URLs, team notes, or other directly identifying team content to Google Analytics. Where required by law, analytics cookies should be controlled by consent or opt-out choices. You can read Google's explanation at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. Google also provides a Google Analytics browser opt-out add-on.

Sharing

Who we share data with

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We also do not share personal data with advertisers or data brokers. Data may be shared or made available in these limited ways:

  • With other members of your team, according to their team role and the app's permissions.
  • With Discord when you sign in through Discord or when a team sends optional Discord webhook reminders.
  • With hosting, database, infrastructure, security, logging, or email providers needed to operate the service.
  • With Google Analytics for aggregate usage measurement, as described in this policy and the app's cookie controls.
  • With authorities, courts, or other parties if required by law or needed to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of the service.

Third-party services have their own privacy policies and terms. Scrimmy cannot control how Discord, Google, video platforms, cloud drives, or other linked services handle data outside Scrimmy.

Team admins

Team data and captain notes

Team owners, captains, and coaches may be able to see and manage roster details, roles, availability, review notes, VOD links, action items, Discord settings, and captain or coach notes. Please do not add sensitive personal information to Scrimmy unless it is genuinely necessary. Scrimmy is for team operations, not medical, financial, employment, legal, or emergency records.

If you are a team owner, captain, or coach, use the app respectfully. Make sure players understand what information you are adding about them, keep notes fair and relevant, and remove information that no longer needs to be kept.

Retention

How long data is kept

Scrimmy aims to keep active account and team data available while it is needed to provide the service, maintain security, understand issues, and meet legal obligations. It is designed as a practical team workspace, not a replacement for your team's own long-term records.

We may remove expired invites, old logs, temporary files, backups, test data, abandoned accounts, inactive teams, spam, abusive content, or data that is no longer needed. If a planned change is likely to affect active teams in a meaningful way, we will try to give reasonable notice where practical. Urgent security, abuse, legal, or operational issues may need faster action.

You can request deletion of your account or personal data by contacting support@scrimmy.pro. Some information may remain for a limited time in backups, audit logs, security records, or team-owned records where there is a legitimate reason to keep it.

Security

How data is protected

Scrimmy uses reasonable technical and organisational measures for a small project, including secure cookies, anti-forgery protection, team-scoped access checks, rate limiting, and role-based permissions. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure. Please report suspected security issues privately rather than posting them publicly.

Age

Young players

Scrimmy is intended for users who are old enough to use Discord and online services in their location. If you are under 18, use Scrimmy only with permission from a parent or guardian where required, and with the knowledge of your team captain or organiser.

Rights

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, transfer, or object to the use of your personal data. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, such as analytics cookies where consent is required.

To make a request, email support@scrimmy.pro. We may need to verify that the request is really from you. If you are unhappy with how your data is handled, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection regulator.

Updates

Changes to this policy

This policy may change as Scrimmy changes. Material updates should be reflected by changing the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by adding a notice in the app. Continued use of Scrimmy after changes means the updated policy applies from the date shown.
